Although Elizabeth Taylor walked down the aisle eight times, only once did she do so in a traditional wedding dress. We are talking about her first wedding, the union with businessman Conrad 'Nicky' Hilton in 1950 -when the actress was the favorite of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studios- with an elaborate dress with a veil and a cinched waist, a custom-made creation by costume designer, Helen Rose, and courtesy of the motion picture company, MGM.

Just two years later, the Hollywood actress would forget about scandals to marry her next husband, Michael Wilding, in an elegant dress with an oversized neckline, holding a tender bouquet of flowers. However, it was on the occasion of her third marriage, to Mike Todd, that Elizabeth Taylor showed signs of the dramatic diva she had become. She got married in Acapulco, Mexico, and wore a white silk gown that framed her petite waist, and was accompanied by a more contemporary version of the bridal veil: a glamorous hood.
