As an annual tradition and with the purpose of welcoming them, baskets were delivered to the first babies born in the current year 2021.
As a precautionary measure in the face of the health contingency, the delivery was made in the outdoor areas of each hospital by the president of the DIF board of trustees, Manuela Olmeda García, and the director of the institution, María Elena Araiza Casillas.
Each of the 15 baskets delivered contains a bathtub, a toilet set, wet towels, diapers, a diaper bag, clothes, fleece, a nasal wringer, covers, a swaddle and dryers, among other useful objects.

In the case of the Maternal and Child Hospital, the basket was delivered to the couple made up of Rubí Vidal Toto and Lorenzo Rosas, residents of the town of Benito Juárez del Valle de Mexicali, who received their first child at 7:05 a.m., who will be called Arturo Rafael. ; and to the couple made up of Adilene Azucena Valenzuela and Jonathan Alejandro García, residents of the town of Lázaro Cárdenas, also from the Mexicali Valley, who received a baby named María Dariana at 07:29.
The baskets were received on her behalf by the director of the hospital, Dr. José Rojas Serrato.
Subsequently, the corresponding baskets were delivered to the IMSS Clinic 31 Pediatric Gynecology Hospital, to be delivered to the first children born in this year, which were received by Dr. María Elena Silva Solís, IMSS 30 Hospital Director and Lizeth Guadalupe Valdez Reynaga, Deputy Administrative Director.
