When Selene was told that she would play Andi in Rebelde, her first feeling was fear because of the size of the project, but she is one of those people who does everything and that becomes a challenge because the desire is always stronger. The girl she plays is rude, she is strong, but above all things, as Selene herself describes her, she is very cool. Her unmistakable hallmark is her tall combat boots , but we also love the way she combines shorts with her uniform. Reading the script, the actress was surprised by how much her character resembles her, although they also have differences from her. Selene, for example, is considered much more sentimental than her character.

Jordi Linares (JL): Selene, how was the moment when they told you that you would be part of the new generation of Rebelde?

Selene (S): It really scared me a little, it was because maybe I didn't feel ready at that moment, but on the other hand, I was excited that such a great opportunity would come to me. With fear and everything, but jumping from happiness .

JL: What memories do you have with the first generation of Rebelde?

S: I have just this memory of the end of some summer course (because my mom loved sending us summer courses). They made us dance, and we all chose Rebelde. And there you saw us, with our little skirt, little blouse, tie... that's the best memory I have of Rebelde, because it was so popular that we all wanted to be rebels.

JL: Now that you talk about being a rebel, do you think Andi is the most rebellious of the rebels?

S: I think that everyone has their own rebelliousness in their own way , but Andi is very tough, she is a very strong person and that is why maybe her rebelliousness is felt more. Because yes, her attitude is heavy, heavy cool, very cool, but she is a very, very, strong girl.

JL: When you first read the script, did you identify with Andi?

S: Yes, I remember that she was reading some scenes somewhere, and I started to cry because I said “wow, it can't be possible that Andi looks so much like me” . Just reading the script, already acting imagine.

JL: Is there a difference between Selene and Andi?

S: Yes, we are really two totally different people. Selene, for example, is a very sentimental person, who cries at any moment and feels everything , and Andi too, but since she has this part blocked and is only in her internally… maybe that could be a little worse. That's the only difference I see.

JL: What is Andy's relationship with fashion?

S: I think he really likes to play with fashion accessories, so to speak. She is very fashionista, she likes to be fashionable and she likes to look good, she also likes to look rough. And I think that just like me, he relates fashion to who she is , to be able to express it physically with her clothes.

JL: What is your personal relationship with music? Are you excited by the weight it has in this new version?

S: Music for me is everything since I can remember . In this project I was impressed because everyone did an incredible job within the musical part. The team we had of musicians was great and talented, and that made everything cool, so the music was one hundred.

JL: In addition to Rebelde, do you have any favorite series or movies for teenagers?

S: Wow, yeah. The truth is that my favorite teenage movie, back in the day, was High School Musical (laughs). It's clearly the most adolescent thing ever and at our time it was epic too. Just thinking about it now, because High School Musical is about music, I think that's why I liked it more because everything was like a musical and dancing... and now too, but more fun.
