Shayne Oliver of Hood by Air says her inspiration is youth culture and a need to see how things evolve through it. What do you think? Do you think young people are aware of their power? I think they're realizing it now, especially in fashion. Thanks to social networks they can say what they want, show what they want and do it in front of a huge audience which creates an amazing number of opportunities to make anything they dream of come true. Young people are becoming braver, more open, creative and refreshing people, so they are obviously an inspiration. I am sure most of them are aware of their power because having thousands of followers makes them sure that they are influential. Today messages are super important and communicating powerful, strange or powerful ideas on your chest, or on your back, is the best way to tell the world how you feel or what you think. What is your favorite garment with a message? I prefer 'More techno, less drama' or 'Reality is not my favorite colour'. Nothing deep, wow.
It seems that, until now, everyone tends to think in terms of 'ugly/pretty boy/expensive/cheap girl gay/straight. Do you think this very limited way of thinking is coming to an end? Living in Poland makes me think not. People are afraid of things that are different or things that they don't understand, so I think they will continue to think the same way. It's a shame and I feel that people who have overcome this type of thing are a very small number within the entire population.
